The Waseca County Historical Society (WCHS) is seeking an organized, creative, and community-minded Museum Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of our museum and research library.
This is a varied position for someone who enjoys working with people, technology, history, exhibits, and projects.
Responsibilities
Support daily administrative and office operations.
Maintain membership, donor, and organizational information using our CRM.
Assist with membership activities, fundraising campaigns, and donor communications.
Exhibit research, development, installation, and maintenance.
Provide support for museum programs, events, and community activities.
Assist visitors, researchers, and members.
Respond to occasional historical and genealogical research requests.
Work with staff and volunteers to keep museum spaces and records organized.
Required Experience:
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with Google Workspace
Comfortable working with databases and digital information.
Ability to learn new software and systems.
Flexibility, creativity, and a willingness to take on a variety of tasks.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
An interest in local history, museums, genealogy, or community heritage.
Preferred Experience:
Experience with historical or genealogical research.
Museum, library, archive, or nonprofit experience.
Experience with exhibits, collections, or public programming.
Experience with CRM, membership, or donor databases.
Experience with fundraising, communications, or community engagement.

Pay: $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30-32 per week
